Cape Cod's only Forbes Five Star resort is seeking a Pastry Cook.

The pastry cook ensures adherence to sanitation and health regulations and requirements. The pastry cook also meet with the Pastry Chef to review assignments, anticipate business levels, changes, and other information. Other responsibilities include preparing ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food so that they are ready for service. The pastry cook also prepare and cooks food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist. The pastry cook also monitor food quality while preparing food, weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients according to recipes and personal judgment. Foods are tested to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing them with utensils. Food is served in proper portions onto proper receptacles with consistent presentation and garnishes.. The pastry cook also minimizes waste, identifies supply shortages and informs the Pastry Chef of any excess food items that can be used in daily specials or elsewhere. The pastry cook also directs and assist the stewards to maximize clean-up efficiency. The pastry cook uses kitchen tools safely and appropriately, washes and disinfects kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment and check and ensures the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food.

The pastry cook follows all company and safety and security policies and procedures, reports maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to The Pastry Chef and completes safety training and certifications. The pastry cook ensures uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional and welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, speak with others using clear and professional language. The pastry team supports each other, listening and responding appropriately to the concerns of other employees. The pastry team members ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. They also must be able to stand, sit, and walk walk for an extended period of time and move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance. The pastry cook also performs all other reasonable job duties as assigned.
